This is our third time on the Disney Wish, and thus our third time dining at Arendelle for dinner. One would think we would know what’s good and what’s not on the menu, but believe it or not, there are still some things we haven’t tried!
Granted there are some things we have tried and will continue to order, but this time for dinner we changed it up a tiny bit and tried a couple new-to-us menu items. We will never abandon you, Swedish meatballs, never!
But first, we bread!

Along with standard rolls, Arendelle serves a Six-Grain Viking Loaf. It was fine. Really, we just want bread that doesn’t make a mess on the table, is that asking too much?

Served with butter and a Roasted Onion Dip. The dips at dinner never really “wow” us, and we find ourselves reaching for the butter time and time again.
They call this a Tart…

We call it a quiche. Jarlsberg Cheese and Rosemary Ham Tart comes with Gala apples and a Williams Pear Compote. Yeah. So anyway, it’s more like a ham and cheese quiche, which is fine. The added fruits didn’t add or take away from the overall flavor.
It’s not the best, it’s not the worst. We’ve had a more disappointing appetizer on a previous cruise when we tried Elsa’s Royal Baked Scallops, but we won’t get into that here. On a scale of 1-10, we’d give this a 5.
We love the soups!

We normally order the carrot soup (yes, carrot!) but this time we chose the Split Yellow Pea Soup with pulled Ham Hock and Pannekaken. We know, we know: “it doesn’t look yellow”. Well, we color corrected and this is the result.
Anyway, the soups here are great! We love the carrot soup and we also love the split pea soup, despite not knowing what the heck a pannekaken is. We assume it’s the thing that doesn’t look like ham. They were noodle-y in texture, if that helps. A solid 8/10.
Fish and no chips.

We were recommended the Crisp Panko-Crusted Icelandic Cod Filet. We’re thinking because it’s not that popular and they need to get rid of it. It’s served with a Pea and Potato Puree, that’s the green blob above it. Kohlrabi, which might be the white thing below it. Rainbow carrots, well, there’s A carrot.
Let’s just cut the description there. It’s disapointing. A piece of fried fish with some green mashed potatoes. That’s what this is. It’s no British fish and chips, that’s for sure. We wouldn’t even recommend this as a second entree.
A comfort classic!

Sure, it could use more noodles, but this is one of our comfort foods. Arendelle Kjottkake. To us, it’s similar to Swedish Meatballs. Braised meatballs with a Rosemary Cream reduction, served with egg noodles and a Lingonberry chutney. The chutney is barely noticeable as the red blob on the center meatball. However, the rest of this dish is simple and comforting.
Similar to what mom used to make, we will continue to order this as a second entree for dinner because even if our first choice is terrible, there’s always this. If you’re looking for something more substantial, the Garlic and Thyme Roasted Beef Rib-Eye is also very good.
Sundae? But it’s Tuesday!

After trying the traditional desserts at Arendelle on previous cruises, we decided to change it up this cruise and instead order the sundae! It’s Elsa’s Coronation Sundae! (no really, that’s the name of it). Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with Marshamallows, Whipped Cream, and Snowflakes.
It’s a basic mint chocolate chip sundae. The snowflakes, I’m sure were in there somewhere. Yes, there’s whipped ceam. We didn’t notice any marshmallows though…wait, nevermind, they’re at the bottom! Just a few, but they’re down there. Overall, its fine, Again, a 5/10 for dessert.
The other desserts on the menu are equally fine, and will be a satisfactory ending to your dinner. However, we will strongly recommend, nay, strongly insist that you do not order the Norwegian Pancake Roulade. It will ruin your night. If there’s a candidate for the Disney Rover Seal of Disapproval, the pancake roulade would be #1 on the list.

Well that was dinner.
Yep, that was dinner. In between courses, there’s a show with dancing and singing and characters and you may even have some visit your table during the course of dinner (we didn’t).
Overall, we enjoy dinner at Arendelle. The musical performances are fantastic, including the show-stopping finale where everyone (including you!) gets involoved.
While the menu is a mixed bag, the live performance is good enough to make you forget about the crumbly bread, or a seafood chowder disguised as a pot pie, or even the lousy fried fish.
You’ll remember the meatballs weren’t that bad, and the soup was decent, but you’ll definitely remember how great those live musicians were and how much fun the show was!
Whoops, almost forgot the menu!

Here’s a link to the menus if you’re interested in seeing everything available! Sorry the lighting was working against us and our phone cast a shadow. Ugh!
Thank you very much for reading, we’ll see you next time.
