Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? So when you’re on vacation, why not make it an indulgent one! You’ve worked hard for this cruise, and you’ve had your share of stress planning this cruise, so why not treat yourself for breakfast? That’s how I see it. Join us for breakfast at Lumiere’s on board the classic Disney Magic!

Pastry? Don’t mind if I do!

You have your coffee. You have your juice. Why not start your day with a little pre-breakfast with a selection of assorted pastries! One of the serving staff for your table will be around offering you a nice little selection of assorted pastries. You can have as many or as few as you’d like! It’s all included! We opted for a lovely little fruit danish and an apple strudel.

The great debate!

Pancakes or waffles? We’ve chosen our side.

And we chose waffles! From the breakfast menu, we ordered the Belgian Waffle, served with a fruit compote. Fluffy and crispy, and this was before we covered it all in syrup! Two quarters of waffle was plenty. The berry compote was okay? It didn’t add, and it didn’t take away from the overall flavor or experience. We added it to bites that didn’t already have syrup.

Considering how you would like to end your breakfast, you can have this first…or last! We’re going to eat this last and end on a sweet note. You do you, this is your vacation. We won’t even judge if you choose pancakes instead.

Our favorite indulgence!

Our favorite breakfast indulgence is Eggs Benedict! While Disney does offer two other variations of the dish for breakfast, we are sticking with the classic made with Canadian bacon. And a side of regular bacon because America!

This dish, in our opinion, is simple perfection. The egg was cooked beautifully, the Canadian bacon was delicious, and the english muffin was toasted just enough to cut through easily while not becoming soggy from egg yolk. Simple, delicious, and covered in buttery hollandaise sauce.

In fact…

It’s so good we ordered two. Why not? We’re on vacation! The regular bacon was a little thin, but I hear some people don’t like thick bacon. It’s still bacon and bacon is good regardless, right? The only bad bacon is no bacon.

Sea Day Special!

Exclusive to Disney Cruise Line is the elusive Churro Mickey Waffles! These decadent treats are not a regular feature at Cabana’s (Marceline Market if you’re on the newer ships).

For our cruise, they appeared on our sea day. While many people brave the buffet to acquire these (and bring some home), we sheepishly asked our server at breakfast if they would be able to bring us some and sure enough, two appeared a few moments later.

As the name suggests, these Mickey Waffles are made to resemble the classic churro that you can buy at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Crispy outside, chewy inside, and coated all around in delicious cinnamon sugar.

Churro Mickey Waffles are a food highlight on a Disney Cruise. Not sure when they will appear at the buffet? Ask the staff at Cabanas or Marceline Market. Your server at dinner may also know when they will be served as well.
