We at Disney Rover are not shy about sharing this Disney Cruise breakfast pro tip: skip the morning buffet and have a sit down breakfast instead! No lines, great service, and the most beautiful Eggs Benedict we’ve ever seen!

Of course, if you’re pressed for time, the buffet may be the way to go. However, if you have the time, like on a sea day, enjoy a relaxing sit down breakfast! No lines, no searching for a table, and the food comes to you! And like the buffet, it’s included in your cruise fare! Go ahead, treat your self.

The Menu

On the Disney Fantasy, breakfast is served every morning at Royal Court. On the Disney Wish last year, we had breakfast at 1923 if you’re interested in reading about it. That’s where our Eggs Bennie love began. (true story!)

Disney Fantasy Breakfast menu

The menu for breakfast is pretty decent! We’re fans of starting off with the chilled fruit to pretend we’re eating healthy. Yogurt parfaits are also on the menu which we haven’t tried yet, but have considered it numerous times.

Pancakes, Belgian waffles, French Toast. They even have Mickey Waffles! We have tried the Southern Hash a couple cruises ago, and we were not fans of it. And while there is not an omelette station, they do offer a build-your-own omelette.

Bring Me the Bennie!

Disney Fantasy Breakfast and the Beautiful Eggs Benedict

This is what we came for: Classic Eggs Benedict! Poached egg, Canadian bacon, toasted English muffin, with Hollindaise sauce. Now for the egg test. Let’s cut this Bennie in half and see how well the egg is poached.

Holy Moley, that is a beautiful egg! Slightly runny, so not overcooked, and it’s not runny all over, so it’s not undercooked either. The English muffin is toasted enough to be slightly crunchy but not difficult to cut through.

How does it taste? HEAVENLY! Divine, even. You know that feeling when you’re craving something, and then you have it, and it tastes fantastic? That’s this feeling! That’s exactly what is happening here. We craved. We ordered. And now we’re floating on cloud nine. It’s, dare we say, perfect.

Waffles, Too!

Disney Fantasy Breakfast and waffles

When we ordered the Belgian waffle, we were under the impression we would be receiving a whole waffle. Silly us! It’s only half of a waffle, but it’s thick so I guess it’s okay. Served on the side is a blueberry compote (okay!) and a strawberry cream (nice and light!). Then, of course, syrup. We also requested a side of bacon, and the bacon quantity varied during the cruise.

The Fishy Bennie.

If you’re not in the mood for a classic Eggs Benedict, there are two other variations available for breakfast. We tried them both! Starting with:

Disney Fantasy Breakfast and the Beautiful Eggs Benedict 3

The Smoked Salmon and Arugula Eggs Benedict. It’s exactly as the name describes: smoked salmon, with arugula, along with the poached egg, English muffin, and Hollindaise sauce. This was…not our favorite, despite the perfectly poached egg.

We’re not sure if this is a healthier (?) option or perhaps culturally we weren’t the right audience for this dish. Smoked salmon for breakfast isn’t exactly our cup of tea, but maybe it’s yours! Give it a try if you’re curious.

One More Bennie!

There’s one last Eggs Benedict option on the menu. Here is the third option!

Disney Fantasy Breakfast and the Beautiful Eggs Benedict 4

The Rosemary Ham and Tomato Eggs Benedict! Like the name suggests: rosemary ham, tomato, poached egg, toasted English muffin, and Hollindaise sauce. This was our second place Bennie. It’s difficult to top the classic Eggs Bennie, but this one fought valiantly for a chance at the top spot!

The rosemary ham is a thicker ham cut compared to Canadian bacon, and the tomato added a little heft and volume. Compared to the classic Bennie, this is a little bigger bite, but still just as enjoyable. As expected, the eggs are poached beautifully.

Of Course We Waffled.

Disney Fantasy Breakfast and more waffles

We ordered the Belgian Waffle with a side of bacon on subsequent days of the cruise, so we’re posting pictures to show you what we were presented. We also sheepishly asked for a Mickey Waffle as well and our server was kind enough to toss one on the plate. It’s not a Disney vacation without Mickey Waffles, right?

Disney Fantasy Breakfast and more waffles 2

So there seems to be some variation on how much bacon you’ll receive when you order a side of bacon. Our first day we received a lot. The next day, hardly any. Then on a follow-up day, a middle amount between the two. It’s bacon roulette for breakfast!

The waffles, both Belgian and Mickey, were fine. It’s hard to screw up waffles. Both were a bit hefty, so less really is more here. The blueberry compote and strawberry cream on the side were consistently good every time. The strawberry cream wasn’t overpowering in flavor and was, in fact, very light. Our syrup amount varied depending if the server poured it for us or left the bottle on the table.

But That’s Not All!

Disney Fantasy Breakfast pastry

As if that wasn’t enough food; before any of that even happens, in between sitting down and when the coffee arrives, we were offered a breakfast pastry! A server came around with a small plate of assorted pastries that we could choose from. A breakfast appetizer, if you will.

Bennie’s the Man!

Please pardon our lack of variety for breakfast. We simply wanted Eggs Benedict for breakfast after having it last year and loving it so much! We were not expecting the eggs to be poached so well every time. Sure, maybe once, but to consistently have perfectly poached eggs over the course of several days, especially on a cruise ship, takes talent!

We hope you enjoyed joining us for breakfast and after a look at the menu, we hope you’ll considering having a sit down breakfast on your next Disney cruise instead of going to the buffet. Sure, the buffet is fine, but we think a relaxing breakfast is the best way to start the day! Well, that and coffee.

Thank you very much for reading, and we’ll see you next time!
