I’m not a huge Star Wars fan. I’ve seen the original trilogy when I was young and thought they were great. Then the next 3 movies came out when I was older, and while I didn’t quite understand what was happening, I went along with it. After that, I never bothered to keep up with the series.

While I’m not familiar with recent storylines or who all these recent characters are, I can appreciate the atmosphere Disney creates with their Star Wars themed attractions. With that in mind, one afternoon I decided to wander into Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge on the Disney Wish just to see what all the excitement and buzz was all about.

At one time, this lounge required a reservation! It was the place to see and be seen. Would a casual Star Wars fan enjoy this lounge? Am I going to understand what is going on inside? Will I even recognize any references to the many movies or shows? Probably not, but let’s go look any way!

Once I figure out this door…

Okay, after seeing the door you have to go through to go inside, I’m now invested in this experience. You feel like you’re about to cross over from a cruise ship to a galactic lounge experience. I’m ready! Let’s push the green button and go inside!

Woah.

My initial reaction was picking up my jaw after it hit the floor. It’s so immersive! I forgot I was on a cruise ship!

I have no idea what these 3 things are, but they looked so cool! They were positioned between booths against the back wall of the lounge.

This window though!

If you’ve been on the Disney Dream or Fantasy, the large window in Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge is a similar theme to Skyline Lounge. At Skyline, the window changes periodically to different skylines of major cities around the world. In Hyperspace Lounge, you periodically jump to hyperspace and arrive in a different galaxy.

The menu is in a tablet!

I sat down at the bar for the ultimate atmosphere experience. One of the bartenders handed me this, so I could browse the menu.

I’ve never been handed a menu on a tablet before. This is neat!

Let’s have a drink!

Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge Mustafar

I was in the mood for a dessert drink, so I opted for the Mustafar. Rumchata, Godiva chocolate, coconut, and coconut water. Sweet and creamy, the Mustafar was exactly the dessert drink I was looking for. This would also be perfect for an after dinner drink, or something sweet to end the evening on before bed.

Along with a nice looking drink, they also gave me some galaxy snacks!

Granted it’s just dried fruit, like pineapple and papaya, but it’s the thought that counts.

You really feel like you’re looking out into space and these ships are really out there! What’s really great is that every time you jump to hyperspace, your MagicBand+ lights up and vibrates to let you know something’s happening!

I only have 2 regrets about my visit to Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge. First, I regret not taking a video of the jump to hyperspace to show you what it’s like. Second, I regret not taking a video of my MagicBand+ while it’s happening!

More atmosphere!

I have no idea if these are actual pre-mixed drinks, or if it’s just atmosphere. They look neat, though!

I could spend all day looking out of this window. Every jump to hyperspace was to a new world with new things to look at. While I have no idea what any of these plants are, it was still a very cool experience.

I had no expectations walking into Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge. I knew there was a $5000 drink combo, but that was about it. Overall, I was blown away by how transformative it felt. From walking through the themed door, to the overall experience of being inside the lounge, it was a fantastic experience.

While I’m just a casual Star Wars fan, I could appreciate the atmosphere the lounge created. You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy this lounge. If you can at least appreciate science-fiction, and being around futuristic things, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the lounge. The atmosphere was great. My drink was great. And I would totally return again in the future.

Thanks for reading, and may the Force be with you.
