You know the drill: it’s summer, it’s hot out, and everyone wants ice cream. Ice cream is great! Ice cream cones are even greater! Ice cream in a waffle cone is the most greatest! But ice cream + heat = melting ice cream = sticky hands. We’ve all been there.

Fortunately, we learned a tip from a parent on our last cruise on the Disney Wish. We didn’t even know this was a thing you could do, so we’re passing this sticky hand saving tip on to you! (and at no additional cost!)
Bring them a cup!

That’s right! You can have your free ice cream served in a cup! All you have to do is grab one of the drink cups from the nearby beverage station and bring that with you to Minnie’s Ice Cream. Not only that, but they will even give you a spoon for it!
From our experience, they won’t fill the cup entirely with ice cream. You’ll still receive the same amount as you would in a cone, but now you don’t have to worry about sticky hands or dropping it.

The parent who told us this hack said it is a game changer as far as keeping ice cream from melting all over their kid’s hands. We at Disney Rover whole heartedly agree, and have decided to give this ice cream hack our coveted Seal of Approval!
We are going to assume this also works on the other Disney cruise ships as well, though we haven’t personally tried it yet.
So the next time you’re Disney cruising and have a hankering for some of that delicious free ice cream, grab a drink cup if you’d prefer a less sticky experience!
