In the last article, you joined me for lunch on embarkation day at Arendelle. Later that evening, according to my rotational dining schedule, I was assigned to Worlds of Marvel for dinner. Great! Let’s get this one out of the way, since I know absolutely nothing about Marvel. Tonight I will also find out if I’m seated alone or if I will have tablemates for dinner!
Worlds of Marvel is located on deck 4 aft on the Disney Wish. After exiting the aft elevators, simply head towards the rear of the ship on either side and you will arrive at the entrance to Worlds of Marvel. The main dining room is down a narrow corridor which, to my dismay, was very crowded from people lining up to be seated.
I was seated at what appeared to be a table for 6, however for this cruise we would be a table of 4. I very happily introduced myself to everyone currently seated and eagerly waited to see if others would join. This was also the first dinner service where we would meet our wait staff for the duration of the cruise. One by one, all 3 members of our serving team arrived. Our Head Waiter, Deniz, from Haiti, the person in charge of several waiters. Our Main Server, Inyoman, from Indonesia. And our Assistant Server, Rohit, from India.
Get to the food already!

Dinner on the Disney Wish always starts with some kind of bread service. In Worlds of Marvel, they serve Marble Loaf with Red Bell Pepper Dipping Sauce. The bread itself was fine, it didn’t have an unusual flavor or anything. I think the marble was more for looks than anything. The dipping sauce wasn’t a hit with the table, and we kindly asked for butter instead.
Of course I had soup!

One of the two choices of soup for dinner was Kartoffelsuppe, creamed potato soup with carrots, celery, knockwurst, and thyme. It was nice, I enjoyed it. My other soup choice was Porcini Mushroom, and you know I wasn’t having that.
Main dish indecision!

The first dinner entree I chose was the Golden Mystic Pasta. Caramelized scallops, angel hair pasta, and then some veggies. It was really good, and I’m a sucker for scallops whenever I can order them. Would definitely order again!

My other choice for dinner was Ricotta Gnocchi. Don’t worry, it’s from the vegetarian menu, so it balances out the other dinner. Gnocchi with fontina cheese, grape tomato, confit, broccoli rabe, and arugula pesto. Look, I have no idea what broccoli rabe is or how it’s different from broccoli, and I couldn’t tell you what confit is, but this was great! Gnocchi was pillowy and overall it was simply delicious. Would also order again.
Dessert(s)!

Once again, indecision struck. All 3 desserts sound great! I’ll only get one. No, two. First is the Subatomic Sticky Date Pudding. This comes with a coconut macaroon, balsamic caramel glaze, and vanilla ice cream. I chose this to try British version of pudding, and I wasn’t disappointed!

Upon reading the description of Nano Dobos Torta: layered cake, chocolate cream, caramel, I wondered if it was like the opera cake I had on the Disney Dream. Well, the only way to find out is to order it! Sure enough, it’s exactly what I thought it would be! It’s decadent because of all the layers, and the printed chocolate it’s served with was fun.

Between the chaos of the first dinner and the show that goes along with dining at Worlds of Marvel, we didn’t finish dinner until close to 10p. Unfortunately for me, I had a liquor tasting at 10, so I had to quickly excuse myself from dinner and race all the way up to deck 11 to get to it, but I’ll talk about that at another time.
Watch for our next upcoming article where we have dinner at Arendelle! It’s Frozen. There’s music. There’s dancing. Olaf makes an appearance, and Oaken annoys the heck out of me!
