Previously, we took a look around a typical room at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This time, we take a hop, skip, and a jump next door to Disney’s Beach Club Resort and look around a typical room there.

Beach Club Resort Rug

A major selling point!

I cannot discuss Disney’s Beach Club Resort without mentioning this incredibly important selling point for the property. Beach Club is, hands down, the closest resort to a theme park on property. From the room I was staying in to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot was about a 5-7 minute walk. If you plan to visit during one of the Epcot festivals, Beach Club is definitely your best bet for proximity to the park.

It feels cozy.

The first thing I’m sure you’ll notice, in comparison to the Yacht Club, is how it feels more laid back and casual in design. From the seashell carpet in the hallways, to the beachy themes in the rooms, Disney’s Beach Club is meant to be the casual counterpart to the Yacht Club.

Beach Club Resort Room 1

As I mentioned, the rooms at Beach Club feel more relaxed and casual. While the room does have some wood furniture similar to Yacht Club, the color palette makes it feel less stuffy.

Yep, these are here as usual.

Beach Club Resort Room 2

Of course the rooms come with a coffee maker and beverage cooler. If I remember correctly, inside the drawer were cups and lids for the Keurig.

Dual sinks!

Beach Club Resort Room 3

The bathroom vanity is nice and bright, with double sinks and some storage underneath. Also, unfortunately, is the “world’s skinniest shelf” above the sink, perfect for holding small toiletries and hoping your travel toothbrush holder doesn’t roll and fall into the sink. Totally not speaking from experience here…

Nice shower, okay storage.

Beach Club Resort Room 4

The tub/shower in the rooms is nice. Granted it’s not as modern as some of the other resorts, but it’s fine. I appreciate the curved shower rod for a little extra room when trying to turn around and scrub everything.

Standard closet

Beach Club Resort Room 5

As per usual, a closet for storage is located opposite the bathroom area. Ironing board, extra pillow and blanket, room safe, etc. are all located in here.

Beds and a weird shelf

Beach Club Resort Room 6

Here is where Beach Club shows it’s age, and I’m guessing this resort is on the list for a room refresh. The bed frames do not allow under-bed storage, unlike many of the resorts. There are some electrical outlets for charging near the bed but again, not as many as other deluxe resorts. Also that storage shelf on the middle night stand is kind of weird!

Pull out sofa

Beach Club Resort Room 7

Or maybe I should say Pull-Down sofa? Similar to other deluxe resorts, the sofa converts to a bed as well.

Great view, bad location!

Beach Club Resort Room View 1

I was upgraded to a water view room and after pulling back the blinds and stepping out onto the patio, I couldn’t believe the view I had! There’s the Boardwalk Resort right across the lake, with the Swan behind it!

Beach Club Resort Room View 2

And then I looked to my left, to see my room was next to the quiet pool area. Typically not a deal breaker, but the walkway next to my room meant I would probably not be able to sit outside on the patio without having to at least acknowledge anyone walking by. I kept, at least, the sheer curtains closed for the majority of this vacation.

Important note for wheelchair/ECV guests.

Beach Club Resort Room 8

Like other deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World, upon opening the door you are greeted with a narrow hallway. For the average guest, this is nothing special. However, if you or someone in your party is in a wheelchair or an ECV, you may want to bring a door stop with you to hold the heavy door open to make navigating the hallway easier.

The wrap-up

As you can see, the ambience at Disney’s Beach Club is completely different from Disney’s Yacht Club, despite both resorts sitting next to each other with very similar room layouts. Beach Club, for me, is my least favorite of the deluxe resorts. Perhaps with a room refresh and a little modernizing, it may move up in the ranks.
