Previously we took a look around at The Lion King area of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. This time, we venture a little further to the outermost buildings at the resort to The Little Mermaid area.

The fun detail to note about this area is that you’re given the impression that you are underwater, and part of Ariel’s world, while you’re staying in this area of the resort.

Yep, she’s here!

Art of Animation - Little Mermaid area - Ariel and Flounder

Of course Ariel will be here, along with Flounder.

And so is she…

Art of Animation - Little Mermaid area - Ursula

Naturally, Ursula is here as well.

Luckily, dad is watching.

Art of Animation - Little Mermaid area - King Triton

Having learned his lesson from the movie, King Triton is here to make sure Ursula isn’t up to anything fishy. I promise to keep the puns to a minimum.

Our favorite crustacean!

Art of Animation - Little Mermaid area - Sebastian

Not one to let her out of his sight, Sebastian is also in the area!

He’s on land right now.

Art of Animation - Little Mermaid area - Prince Eric statue

Since we’re under the sea, Prince Eric isn’t able to join us since he’s, you know, human. However, a Prince Eric statue is here in his place!

More wonderful things!

Scattered around the area are a variety of things from Ariel’s collection, each with plenty of space for family photos. Please don’t climb on these.

It’s important to note that The Little Mermaid rooms are the furthest away from the main lobby. From the lobby, one would have to walk through The Lion King area and then continue further down the path to reach The Little Mermaid area.

The Little Mermaid area of Art of Animation does not have family suites. The rooms are a more traditional Disney resort room with two double beds. Since they are not family suites, a kitchenette is not included. However, the rooms do have a refrigerator and coffee maker. The Little Mermaid area does have a themed pool in the center of the area. While not as impressive as the Finding Nemo pool, it can be a better option if you’re looking for something a little more quiet.

Since these are more traditional Disney resort rooms, their price is reflective of that, compared to the family suites. They are definitely more affordable, but they also have less square footage. The Little Mermaid resort rooms can only sleep 4, compared to the family suites in the rest of the resort that can sleep 6.

I hope you enjoyed this little walk around The Little Mermaid area of Art of Animation. Next time, we’ll take a look around my favorite area of the resort: the Cars area!

Stay tuned! (and thanks for reading!)
