In the previous article, we covered the west side of Disney’s Boardwalk. In this article, we’ll cover the east side. This side of the resort is the location of the, for lack of a better term, regular Boardwalk Resort. The half of the resort where anyone who isn’t a member of Disney Vacation Club can book a room. The water view rooms look out over Crescent Lake and the view is fantastic! Highly recommended if it’s within your budget.
Enough about that, let’s get to strollin’. We’ll be traveling from the far end of the Boardwalk and move towards the center again. The east side of Disney’s Boardwalk is where most of the changes happened and are currently happening. Speaking of changes, that leads us to this location at the very end of the Boardwalk:
This isn’t here now! (RIP ESPN Club)

This building is now completely gutted and under construction to make way for The Cake Bake Shop Bakery. Opening date is unknown at this time, most likely at some point in 2024. This used to be the location of the ESPN Club, a sports bar restaurant with A LOT of sports memorabilia scattered throughout. Want to see jerseys of famous football players? It was here. Want to see signed baseballs? It was here. There was even a broadcast studio! This was the place to go to watch any kind of game or major sporting event. Kind of sad to see it go.
Boardwalk Ice Cream!

Still an ice cream parlor, Boardwalk Ice Cream used to be the location of Ample Hills Creamery until they filed for bankruptcy and closed in 2020.
This has a new name! Boardwalk Deli

What was once the Boardwalk Bakery were you could get a variety of sandwiches and pastries, has now become the Boardwalk Deli where you can…also get a variety of sandwiches and pastries. Okay. Boardwalk Deli also has a resort refillable mug station.
Really bad pizza! Boardwalk Pizza Window

Don’t let the signs fool you, it’s just pizza here at the Boardwalk Pizza Window. That’s actually the name: Pizza Window. You know how over at EPCOT, Via Napoli has a pizza window? It’s like that but worse.
A much better place! Trattoria al Forno

Trattoria al Forno is an Italian restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. This location used to offer a character breakfast where you could meet Flynn Rider and Prince Eric, but that is currently not being offered. For now, the only way to at least see Flynn and Eric is at the Festival of Fantasy parade at Magic Kingdom.
The Magic Bar! AbracadaBar (that’s tough to spell)

Not easy to spell, but easy to find. AbracadaBar is a magic-themed bar at the Boardwalk. The inside of this location is a feast for the eyes with so much to look at, and the bartenders know a few magic tricks as well. Definitely worth stopping in for an after dinner drink!
Signature Dining! Flying Fish

Rounding out the end of the east side of Boardwalk Resort is the signature dining restaurant Flying Fish. Fish and seafood are the main focus here, but they also have a variety of steaks to choose from as well. While I have personally not dined here, I have heard many many good things about this restaurant. People also like to remind you that this place is a little pricey, and you have to dress nicely to dine here.
Rounding the corner past Flying Fish, we return to the grassy mall area in front of the stairs leading to the resort lobby!
I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the boardwalk at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. After the changes to the Boardwalk Bakery and the current construction of the Cake Bake Shop, I wanted to get these two articles published before any more changes comes to the Boardwalk!
Thanks for reading!
