I love staying at Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ for short). It’s one of the smaller resorts so walking from the main building to your room is FOR THE MOST PART fairly quick and easy. Unless your room is in building 7, which is far away from everything except Port Orleans Riverside.
I love the wrought iron, the gardens, and the fountains. I love that you feel transported to a different area. Their food court is fantastic. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, which you can watch them make.
The New Orleans theme of the resort continues in the navigation while on site.
They have street signs!

They have tiles on the ground!

And each building has a designated jazz instrument.

What’s interesting, though, if you think about the number of resorts on Disney property: this is unique to just a few moderate resorts. Coronado Springs also has this type of designation, but only in the Ranchos area (unless I missed it?). Caribbean Beach has building groups of various islands and each group is a different color, so that’s sort of similar. Polynesian and Grand Floridian have different building names, yes, but they don’t have a unique identifier like this.
So yeah! Just some fun details about POFQ that I wanted to share that I thought were really neat.
